The Catskills and NYC
Earlier this month, we adventured over the Atlantic to New York City, and set out on a little road trip up to the Catskills region. With a weeks holiday booked, we split the time between the mountainous Upstate region, and the big city. Of course, we decided to Airbnb it, which yet again provided the goods! We took a midday flight from Manchester to JFK, landing in the States late afternoon. From the airport, my amazing (unflappable) partner drove us up to Saugerties in our rental car. Exhausted, we crashed out ready for a few days exploring. I would highly recommend Saugerties and the little flat we stayed in. We ventured to pretty much all the towns in the surrounding area, and of them all Saugerties and Woodstock were the top choices. Day one was spent walking, climbing to the lookout point on Overlook Mountain, and exploring the steep ascent to Kaaterskill Falls.
